From world class mountain bike tracks to the region's rich mining past.

Branxholm has a number of local attractions focused on enjoying the region’s stunning environment and it’s rich mining past. This includes a number of walking tracks and landmarks relating to the region’s industrial past such as the Mt Paris Dam and the Chinese mining heritage area.

MT PARIS DAM

Mount Paris Dam sits on the Cascade River. It was built as the Morning Star Dam to supply a nearby tin mine of the same name. It is one of the first wholly concrete damns in the southern hemisphere.

CHINESE HERITAGE MINING AREA

A key aspect of the region's mining past is the participation of Chinese miners. This attraction while small offers a great insight into this aspect of the region's history.

AH PING'S HERITAGE WALK

A pleasant walk through the bush past silhouette images of a Chinese Trader, Sluicebox Workers and a Chinese miner as well as leases and diggings. The walk features extensive signage and the metal silhouettes partially hidden in the bush. The attraction is dedicated to the Chinese people who lived, worked and died in this region during the late 1800s
